Long-Term Heart Monitoring
What the Service Involves
Long-term heart monitoring typically involves using a wearable device such as a Holter monitor, an event recorder, or an implantable loop recorder. These devices record your heart’s electrical activity for days, weeks, or even months. The type of monitor used will depend on your symptoms and condition.
Preparation
There is little to no preparation needed for attaching a monitor. You will be instructed to maintain a diary of activities and symptoms during the monitoring period to correlate them with the heart’s electrical activity.
During the Test
You will wear the device continuously, and it will record all your heartbeats. The device is small and discreet, allowing you to go about your daily activities with minimal interference.
Benefits
Long-term monitoring provides a comprehensive view of your heart function over time, capturing arrhythmias or irregularities that may not appear during standard tests. This detailed data is crucial for diagnosing conditions and tailoring treatment plans to individual needs.
