Pacemakers Interrogation
What the Service Involves
Pacemaker interrogation involves using a specialized device that communicates with your pacemaker via radiofrequency. During the session, our technicians can read and adjust the settings of your pacemaker, check the battery life, and assess the lead integrity. This procedure helps in detecting any abnormalities or changes in heart function that may require adjustments to the pacemaker settings.
Preparation
There is no special preparation required for pacemaker interrogation. Patients can continue with their normal daily activities and take medications as prescribed.
During the Test
You will sit or lie down comfortably while a technician places a wand over the area where your pacemaker is implanted. The wand is connected to a computer that reads information from your pacemaker. The process is quick, usually taking about 15 to 30 minutes.
Benefits
Regular pacemaker interrogations ensure that the device is working correctly, maximizes the device’s lifespan, and adapts its functioning to your changing health needs, thus providing you with the best possible protection against heart rhythm irregularities.
